Coffee - one of a few exceptions

Yes, I know that coffee is not grown in western North Carolina, nor is the wheat in the bread that West End Bakery is donating to us. However, we have used the next tier of criteria in defining "sustainable" products. I am not suggesting that there is some national or prescribed tier system. But, our thought is that if you cannot get the products local, then get those products that have the least amount of impact possible. So, we got organic free-trade coffee from a local roaster. Here is Jonathan to tell you about Bean Werks coffee. By the way, their blend called "Black Widow" is my favorite! The blend is a secret. But I do know that it is three types of beans and two of the types are from South Africa and Central America - and all three are organic fair-trade.
